Levine, Ph.D., a biochemist from UC Berkeley. He was the first to introduce truly hypoallergenic products to the nutritional supplement market. In addition, Dr. Levine and Allergy Research Group® developed the first Buffered Vitamin C product and did the initial research synthesizing and conceptualizing the benefits of antioxidants, which lead to Dr. Levine’s groundbreaking textbook Antioxidant Adaptation, which he co-authored with Dr. Parris Kidd in 1984. Since 1979, Allergy Research Group® has been noted for highest quality, hypoallergenic nutritional supplements. We supply products to physicians and healthcare practitioners worldwide. In the years since Dr. Levine began, Allergy Research Group® has consistently pioneered new nutritional applications, being the first to introduce a wide variety of unique nutritional supplements including multiple antioxidant formulas, buffered and hypoallergenic vitamin C powder, Garum armoricum (Stabilium), organic germanium, liquid selenium and kelp selenium, pine bark extract, lactoferrin, melatonin, reduced glutathione, and rye grass extract (Oralmat®), to name a few. Allergy Research Group® continues this tradition of innovation with their recent introduction of VascuStatin (Bindweed extract), Colon-Well, Earth Dragon, Not So Well, and Eurocel liver support formula. For the best of the new, look to Allergy Research Group®. | | | | | Hypoallergenic Defined | | | | According to Taber’s Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary “hypoallergenic” is defined as: “Diminished potential for causing an allergic reaction”. We define hypoallergenic as “Free of all common allergens”, specifically, wheat, corn, soy, gluten, yeast, dairy, and eggs. Many very sensitive individuals who react to supplements in general, are able to tolerate Allergy Research Group® products. Since our inception in 1979, we have been using only the purest, and whenever possible, the lowest allergy potential natural ingredients. And while many of the nutrients in our formulas are synthesized from natural substances (plant sources), which as a whole may contain antigens, the synthesizing process removes the molecules of the desired nutrient from the original substance, and in the processing a great percentage of the antigens and allergens are left behind. The final material then has extremely low allergy potential. This is not to say that no one will react to any of our hypoallergenic formulas, as some extremely sensitive people may. However, the potential for an allergic reaction is low, and the feedback from many of our extremely allergic and sensitive customers is that Allergy Research Group® supplements are the only products they are able to tolerate. | | | | | Quality Control | | | | For many years we have used the same manufacturers to produce bulk materials, capsules and tablets. In our facility in Hayward, California we bottle, label and ship finished products. Our products are manufactured under recognized principles of current Good Manufacturing Practice in manufacturing, packing or holding dietary supplements proposed by the FDA. Upon receipt and before acceptance, each container of raw materials, product containers, and closures are examined visually for appropriate labeling as to contents, container damage, or broken seals, and for contamination. They are stored under quarantine until they have been tested or examined, and released by our Quality Control Department. A sample is taken from each lot of raw materials, bulk materials or finished product. Every sample is identified, tested and stored for three years. The Certificate of Analysis on every incoming batch of raw material and/or product is provided by the supplier or manufacturer. Our in-house laboratory control includes the determination of conformance to written specifications and a description of the sample. The following parameters are tested: texture, color, taste, odor, pH, specific gravity, solubility, weight variations, etc. We use wet chemistry methods for identification and quantitative analysis. Test methods include high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography with mass spectrometry and capillary electrophoresis performed by independent analytical laboratories. Microbiology and heavy metals testing are also performed. Strict control is exercised over labeling issued for use in product labeling operations. Labeling materials issued for a batch are carefully examined for identity and conformity to the batch production record. We list all ingredients on our labels, including inactive ingredients. Allergy Research Group® is currently licensed by the California Department of Health Services, Food and Drug Branch. Our registration number is 0021150. | | | | | Inactive Ingredients | | | | The following is a list of inactive ingredients used in some of our products. These may be called fillers and/or excipients as defined by the Food Chemical Codex. These are nutrient compounds which are utilized for their physical properties to aid in the supplement production process. They are derived from edible sources and are generally free of common allergens. To determine which natural additives are included in a specific product, please refer to the supplement facts panel. | | | | | Cellulose Powder is derived from fiberous plant material, is insoluble in water and is used as a filler. In addition to being used as a filler, cellulose powder is sold as an individual supplement as a pure insoluble fiber, and is extremely well tolerated. | | Silicon Dioxide, or silica is one of the most common chemical compounds. Silica plays an important role in biological processes. Most rocks and minerals are made of silicon dioxide and other minerals. Silica is insoluble in water and used for its drying properties. | | Stearic Acid is an 18 carbon, naturally occurring saturated fatty acid. It is a component of membrane structure and is utilized for its lubricating properties. | | Magnesium Stearate contains stearic acid and magnesium palmitate, which is magnesium salt of a 16 carbon saturated fatty acid, also common in membrane structure. It is also utilized for its lubricating properties. | | Dicalcium phosphate (calcium phosphate, dibasic) is a white, odorless, tasteless powder that is stable in air. It is practically insoluble in water, but is readily soluble in hydrochloric acid. | | CarboWax, polyethylene glycol, is used in food products (polyethylene is the masticatory substance in chewing gum base) as a lubricant, binder, dispersing agent, and flavoring adjuvant. | | | | | Back To Top | | Back To Previous Page | | Back To Natural Health Doc Main Center | | | | | Disclaimers: While we carry Allergy Research Group® products, neither A Natural Health Clinic, Inc., Natural Health DOC, or Dr. Linda Hadley nor any third party associated with us, related to or linked to Natural Health DOC, or any other affiliated business or website is in any way affiliated with Allergy Research Group®.
